Tifa and Lexx in all grey everything

Snagged from Tifa's facebook page...

At least I think thats grey...that's grey right? Anyhoo...I like it. aside from the high top and ridic shades, at night no less, that Mr. Lexx is sporting...this is a cute pic.

The blazer is embellished so you'd think the necklace might be too much but all the hardware works here. I even like the wig. Its a very toned down look for Tifa and I think thats why I love it so much. *thumbs up*

Dancehall Soul Style with Cherine

Cherine in custom-made multi-colour leather earrings by Reve Jewelry
A couple years ago I had a chat with Cherine Anderson about her style. I noticed then that she had a very unique style about her that I liked and I reached out to get some of her secrets and inspirations. Cherine, who starred with Audrey Reid in the Jamaican classic Dancehall Queen in 1997 has moved on to a successful singing career, and  she's fresh off a tour opening for John Mayor!  That article has since been lost in the transfer from FashionOverStyle.Net to IrieDiva.com but here's an update!

I saw some pictures of her attending the Miss Jamaica World pageant where she was slated to perform and I had to reach out again. Her hair and her bag spoke to me! Here's what we spoke about:

Dealing with a post baby body

In the world of celebrity, there's personal chefs and trainers, nannies and when all else fails, surgeons. In reality, either you have the great ability to snap back or you have me. I have heard endless "wow you look good man, back to you old self," but.....not quite. I am indeed back to my pre-baby weight however things aren't quite the same. While I was really huge throughout my pregnancy, it was all concentrated in my belly. I wore all my clothes right up to the end as long as it could open up in the tummy area. But my munchkin was 8lbs 13oz and everybody thought she would be even bigger. You don't wanna know what that's like when baby is pulled out...

Former playboy bunny Kendra shows off her post-baby body in US magazine:

....looking pretty....shopped....especially since this clip shows a realer story:

Balance your shoes with your outfit

Over the weekend I saw some fashion show or the other on local TV and I said to myself...there's obviously no shoe stylist on this set. Apparently it was a model competition so I guess the girls were left to fend for themselves where shoes were concerned. BUT, they were showing off pieces by local and international designers, so why wasn't there proper styling?

The proper shoe and accessories is so important when showing off a design, or even when you're just stepping out for that matter. If you're wearing a fabulous dress with a bad shoe, your whole look is thrown off. Its very important to balance your clothes with your shoe. A dainty dress will need a dainty shoe, a rugged outfit a rugged shoe, a tailored outfit a tailored shoe and so on and so forth. Mixing the type is also necessary, a wow shoe to add pizazz to a simple outfit or a simple shoe to let a fabulous dress shine.

If you only have one pair of black shoes, it should never be something as heavy as gladiator heels, which I saw a lot of these girls wearing on the runway. Gladiator shoes do not go with everything. Your first pair of black heels should be a classic pump or a classy, strappy sandal as those are the safest options. Then again movie stars with million dollar budgets and stylists at their beck and call still can't quite get the combination right, so maybe I shouldn't be so  hard on these girls. But shame on the producers for not having shoe stylists available.

Anyway I started visiting my favourite fashion blogs for examples to show and I didn't have to go far. Red Carpet Fashion featured J. Lo in this horrid outfit as soon as I clicked over....

Beyonce's Booties

bey

Only Beyonce....or any other celebrity I guess...Where would you wear them? I'm in love with them I'll admit, they have the right amount of irie diva for me but I'm yet to figure out just where I'd rock them. I'm no Bey, I can't quite rock these at the airport, I'll be carrying my own bags. Her outfit is great, cute and casual, but I'm not the type to put on a casual outfit and a pair of killer heels, casual screams flats. Maybe thats just me?
